Mamoudou Niane is an Associate Professor of Law at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis (Senegal). He holds the Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat (CAPA). Pr. NIANE is Permanent Secretary of Senegal’s Data Protection Commission (CDP). He was its Director of Legal Affairs, Litigation and Compliance from November 2016 to March 2020.
Pr. NIANE was involved in drafting legislation on the Information Society in Senegal. More recently, he coordinated the reform of the legislative and regulatory framework for personal data protection in Senegal. Mamoudou Niane is a member of several technical committees dedicated to digital technology, personal data protection, artificial intelligence and space law in Senegal and abroad.
